WpAdMentor is a WordPress plugin that offers a quick ‘n’ dirty alternative to OpenAds.
WpAdMentor integrates with WordPress’s admin interface to add and manage advertising on WordPress sites. Alas, it doesn’t work with the current version of WordPress 2.3.3 and hasn’t been updated since September 2007.
Since WpAdMentor was released by Stefan Holmberg’s under a GPL license, I’m releasing my bug fix version here:

I hacked the original version and got it to work on 2.5, but no dice with the category function. If anyone can help make the cats work, it would be grand.

@Katy – Should work now, try reinstalling from my download link.

Richard – Great work! I installed it and the cats and even tags work with WpAdmentor. WP 2.5 nice!

@Katy- Great! Keep me posted if there are any problems in future. I understand from my developer that it was a simple CSS problem.

Nice fix. I tested it on WP 2.6.1 and I cannot get the in post rotator code to work. The specific banner code works, but not the rotating code.
Can you fix that part?

Total clicks count is not working properly for HTML campaigns. plz help?
September 15th, 2008 at 4:41 am
I don’t see how click counts could work for an html campaign… only impressions… Unless you manually added the ‘counting’ code.

Wordpress 2.7 has an issue with this plugin now.. it won’t allow me to go to any of the other pages (via the edit buttons). I can only see the default view..
Any ideas?

Ok I fixed it for Wordpress 2.7. Search and replace all links that correspond to “edit.php”, and change them to “tools.php”.
This is located in the file:
“\wp-content\plugins\wpadmentor\wpadmentor.php”
Cheers.

Thank you for the fix to WPAdMentor. This plugin is really helping me manage the ads on the StrategyDriven website.
I am experiencing one problem, however. I’m using WP2.3.3 and all is working well except that WPAdMentor is not recording the ‘clicks.’ I have 25,000+ impressions and no clicks even though I’ve personally clicked on each of the advertisements several times to test the links.
I was wondering if there might be something I’m doing wrong with the creation of the ads or if there might be another bug in the plugin.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
All the Best,
Nathan

Thanks for the fix. My problem is that since the changeover to 2.7 Categorie no longer works. The banner will be displayed everywhere. Is there someone help?

I looked into this a bit more recently and it seems that if the ad isn’t working on your category page, it may be that the blog address and wordpress address are different. For example under General settings, you see two paths. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Alright, I just fixed the problem with it not showing up on other category pages. Of course this is an issue with category targeting which doesn’t seem to work properly anyways. If you have it working, good on you. If you don’t use category targeting and you have the same ads running across the whole website change wpadmentor_bannerengine.php on line 39 where it says $match = false; to $match = true;
What this will do is tell wpadmentor that it’s always in the right category.

hello,
how can i modify the plugin, to open the ads in a new window?
I basically want to add target=”_blank” but don’t really know where to add it..
Thanks.
